Public officials excluded from casino gambling

It has been revealed that the IR Implementation Bill will also include a provision to forbid certain public officials from engaging in casino gambling.

This is a measure to prevent personal conflicts of interest between those officials who have responsibility for overseeing the casinos and the operators involved in the gambling business.

While the specific criteria for which public officials will be excluded from casino gambling will be decided in the future, it will certainly include the prime minister and all of the cabinet ministers.

Some local government officials will also face a ban, but only in the case of the casino operating within their own jurisdiction. They will be free to visit casinos in other parts of the country.
