Rummy and poker petitions to be heard next week

The hearing for the petitions challenging the latest ban on online gaming in Telangana has been adjourned to July 12, rather than its original July 3 date, Glaws reports.

While the matter had been adjourned,  it is understood that the division bench of the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana High Court last week gave permission for online rummy petitioners to continue operations outside of the state.

Meanwhile, the civil petitions filed in the Gujarat High Court by poker operators including Dominance Games, Rollers Training Institute, KN Suresh, have been adjourned to July 11.

A single judge bench of the High Court comprising of Justice Rajesh Shukla is expected to hear the arguments of the petitioner clubs as well as the state government next week and decide on whether to grant interim relief of temporarily allowing the clubs to continue operating poker rooms.
