Russia submits last minute bid on Cyprus casino license

Russian companies have put in a last minute show of interest in bidding for a casino license in Cyprus as the deadline for expressions of interest looms on Dec. 18th, according to a statement from PWC CEO Evgenios Evgeniou.

Six major firms from Malaysia, Cambodia, USA, South Africa and France have expressed interest so far. He gave no details of how many Russian companies were involved. 

Cyprus' government has required the casino to come with a five-star hotel and other facilities, dramatically increasing the project cost for local companies.
