Saipan casino’s May VIP roll hits $2.52 billion

Imperial Pacific said its temporary casino on the island of Saipan generated VIP table roll of $2.52 billion for May, down from the $3.18 billion generated in April.

Since opening in November last year, the casino has generated an average monthly roll of about $2 billion, mostly from China VIPs.

The company recently said the casino has reached its capacity. The temporary casino is now operating a total of 16 VIP tables, up from 12 at the year end, though its mass tables have dropped to 32 from 34.

In Q1, the temporary casino had pulled in total VIP table games roll of $6.1 billion. That was up about 30 percent from the average in the first two months of operation.

However, real  growth is expected to come when it opens its new resort planned for later this year.

Phase I of the development of Grand Mariana Casino Hotel and Resort is expected to be completed in December 2016, with the 14-storey hotel building being opened in April 2017. The hotel will offer 373 opulent hotel rooms and 15 deluxe villas.
