Sands China gets approval to extend deadline of Parisian Macao

Macau casino operator Sands China Ltd’s request for more time to complete its Parisian Macau development has been granted by the Macau Government, according to Jornal Tribuna de Macau.

The development was originally required to be complete by April, 2016 , but has been given a seven month extension from the Directorate of the Land, Public Works and Transport, to be completed in November, 2016. The company had previously said it would be unable to meet a April 2016 deadline.

According to the Portuguese newspaper, the Macau based operator did not have a timetable for the completion of the development, stressing however that the opening of the "Parisian" is scheduled for the "third quarter of 2016".

The Parisian Macao will feature a scale replica of the Eiffel Tower, nearly 13,000 hotel rooms, two million square feet of retail-mall offerings and two million square feet of MICE capacity.

An air-conditioned walkover bridge with moving sidewalks is also planned, which will connect Parisian Macao to Sands Cotai Central, according to Las Vegas Sands chairman Sheldon Adelson in January.
