Sands China holds Dealer Skills Championship 2015

Nine finalists showcased their baccarat, blackjack and roulette skills in front of a cheering crowd of fellow team members at Sands China Ltd’s Dealer Skills Championship at The Venetian Macau last week.

Man Weng Ip, Wang Zhen Han and Un Wai Kin were crowned the winners in the baccarat, blackjack and roulette categories, respectively. Each won a grand prize trophy and a trip for two to Singapore including a four-night stay at the Marina Bay Sands, plus SGD 1,000 ($740). The first and second runners-up in each category took home a trophy, plus MOP 6,000 ($750) and MOP 4,000, respectively.

The Dealer Skills Championship aims to encourage dealers in the company to seek out opportunities to enhance their dealing and service skills, the Sands China said in a media release.

The competition attracted a total of 120 team members, with the top 10 contestants from each category advancing to the semi-finals. Eventually, the top three in each category emerged and played off against each other in the final round.

“This event serves to motivate and build our team members while providing a platform where they can demonstrate their skills,” said Cetin Tanisman, senior vice president of casino operations for Sands China Ltd.

The winners of the competition will go on to compete at the All Asia Dealers’ Championship at the G2E Asia expo in May, which will be organized by Global Gaming Expo and Asia Gaming Brief.
