SJM’s Palazzo Versace hotel to open in April

SJM Resorts’ Chairman Daisy Ho has indicated that the company is planning for a soft launch of its Palazzo Versace luxury hotel in the Cotai Strip in April of this year.

Speaking to media on Wednesday, Ho indicated that the company would later be holding a grand opening of the venue, complete with representatives of the fashion brand.
Also on Wednesday, the company chairman noted that SJM would need more time than its rival concessionaire holders to ramp up its non-gaming events.
However, Ho did note that SJM would be participating in some of Macau’s top yearly sporting events, such as the Dragon Boat races, the WuShu Masters, a golf event, the China Open and the Macau Grand Prix – which this year celebrates its 70^th anniversary.
SJM has been slow to recover from the pandemic, posting a $993 million loss in 2022 – up 82 percent yearly, as its Grand Lisboa Palace property failed to ramp up in its first full year of operation.
