SkyCity Adelaide to reopen on June 29

SkyCity Adelaide will reopen for business on June 29, though only to members and with reduced hours, according to a statement from the company.

SkyCity Adelaide General Manager David Christian commented, "We have a comprehensive plan in place to ensure our guests and staff are safe, and we look forward to showcasing some of the transformation projects that have continued during our closure. With a workforce of more than 1,200 South Australians, our priority has remained getting our team back to work safely as we enter a historic period for SkyCity with the opening of our expansion and hotel later in 2020."

He added that the firm had not been idle during the business suspension: "The shutdown period has allowed us to review our supply chain and adapt our offerings to ensure that we are increasing our support for local producers and suppliers even further."

Various countermeasures to reduce the risk of coronavirus infection will be implemented on the property.

Additionally, the AS$330 million (US$248 million) expansion of the facility, called EOS, has been ongoing, and is still thought to be on track to open later this year.
