Stadium-style game popularity continues to gain

Stadium-style electronic table games continued to show stellar growth in Q4, with gross gaming revenue up 36 percent to $54 million. That was up 11 percent from the prior quarter, according to detailed figures from the territory’s gaming regulator. For the sixth consecutive quarter, and also only the sixth time since 2009,

VIP revenue accounted for less than 70 percent of total market-wide GGR, at 65 percent, according to Union Gaming’s analysis of the figures. VIP GGR rose 18 percent year on year to $8.1 billion, mass table rose 40 percent to $3.9 billion and slot machines were up 7 percent to $0.5 billion. The growth in popularity of ETGs is likely to continue to drive a lower slot machine count by the DICJ, which counts them as live tables.
