Thai gamblers arrested and expelled from Cambodia

Almost two hundred Thai nationals, arrested at two online gambling sites within the casino block of Poipet City, Banteay Meanchey Province on November 19, were sent home to Thailand on the 21st, after talks between officials of the two countries.

The Poipet City busts are part of the crackdown on online gambling in Cambodia that began in late August.

Cambodian authorities handed the 50 men and 123 women over to Thai officials at Ban Khlong Luek border checkpoint in the Aranyaprathet District on Thursday. Four military buses were waiting to pick them up at the Thai-Cambodian Friendship Bridge. They were soon after released to their families.
