Tiger welcomes guests at Tigre de Cristal official opening

The first casino has officially opened in the Primorye Gambling zone in Russia’s Far East, a month after its test launch on Oct. 8.

The grand opening ceremony of Tigre de Cristal took place between 0730 am and 1130 pm local time on Nov. 11, with the casino having been closed to the public at that time, as the ceremony was by invitation only.

Speaking at the ceremony Craig Ballantyne, executive director of G1 Entertainment company, which owns the casino, expressed confidence that the project will attract additional investments in all areas of tourism of the region, state-owned Russian news agency TASS reported on the same day.

The ceremony was then followed by an afterparty open to the public, which included a show ballet performance by the "Soho Dolls" and a gig by the Russian pop band "Band'Eros" as well as other live entertainment. Guests were reportedly "welcomed" by a young female tiger, which is the casino's talisman.

While its soft opening was attended by about 2,000 people, this time reportedly there were even more guests, although the exact number was not given.
