Union reports smoking problems

A trade union official said after meeting with government officials that some casinos had again failed government air checks. The Health Bureau said in April that 28 of the city's 46 gaming venues did not meet air quality standards and has since reinspected the violators but has not disclosed the results. Ella Lei Cheng I of the Macao Federation of Trade Unions added that the government has not been checking on VIP rooms, though she said they can be more smoky given their small size.
