Aguirre receives documents that could prove corruption

Documents alleging the corruption of senior officials of the previous Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) administration have been turned over to Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II, local media reports.

According to Aguirre, Council for Philippine Affairs (COPA) secretary-general Pastor Saycon had a meeting with him to turn over several documents involving Pagcor and the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority.

Other documents, Aguirre said are about certain contributions that certain candidates failed to declare in their Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE).

He however did not give details on the former Pagcor officials involved, only hinting that they held high positions in the government.

“I will still have to study the documents,” he told reporters.
