Illegal gaming machines seized in HCM City

Customs officials in Ho Chi Minh City have seized a 1.5-tonne shipment of illegal gambling machines, local media reports.

According to the Tan Son Nhat Airport Customs Office, the machines which were trying to pass off as Alfastreet Roulette machines, and were bound for Cambodia.

They are owned by Phuong Dong company. 

Gambling machines are prohibited imports in Vietnam, and transiting them through the country requires express permission from the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The batch is being held for further investigation.
