MGTO claims strong record on implementation

The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) claims that it has already implemented 81 percent of the actions and objectives outlined in the 2017 Macao Tourism Industry Development Master Plan.

The Master Plan is a blueprint for the future development of Macau’s tourism industry for fifteen years with the aim of making Macau a world center of tourism and leisure.

Among the 69 short-term plans targeted for the first five years, MGTO claims that 56 of them have already been accomplished.

Among the achievements cited was the debut of the first international cultural and artistic event, Art Macao; and also holding the Macau Grand Prix, the Macau International Fireworks Display Contest, and the International Film Festival & Awards Macau.

Better tourism industry coordination within the Greater Bay Area remains a pending major goal.
