Russia sees launch of third online betting site

Russia’s third officially approved online betting site, Winlinebet.ru has launched, local media reports.

Winline, which operates 11 retail betting shops throughout Russia, launched Winlinebet.ru, which follows on from Liga Stavok and 888.ru, launched in February and June respectively.

In related news, average bet size in Russia saw a dramatic decrease in 16Q1 due to a sharp decline in the value of the Russian ruble, according to statistics released from Rub90.

The average bet size in 16Q1 was $11.4, down $4.1 from 15Q4, which reflects a plunge in value of the ruble in January.
