Cyprus casino to sign construction contracts soon

The Melco-Hard Rock consortium, which is planning an integrated resort in Limassol, Cyprus, is set to sign contracts for its construction later this month, Cyprus Property News reports.

According to the property news outlet, the consortium, which consists of Melco-Hard Rock and Cyprus Phassouri (Zakaki) Limited is targeting full completion by 2020, with a temporary casino expected to open by October this year.

“The coordinating committee expects to complete its due diligence checks in the next few days and submit its report to the Council of Ministers (Cabinet). After the contracts have been signed, the National Gaming and Casino Supervision Commission will issue the consortium with the appropriate operating licences,” noted the news outlet.

Plans for the casino hotel include a 500-luxury room hotel, along with a gaming space fit with 1,000 slots and 100 table games. The license is also said to include four satellite casinos - which are planned to open in July 2017, as well as three slot machine parlors in Paphos, Larnaca and Famagusta.
