DICJ: 46 percent of Macau’s gaming tables back in operation

The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) has reported that, as of March 9, 3,100 gaming tables, or 46 percent of Macau’s total, had resumed operations.

It is believed that 38 of Macau’s 41 casinos are now open for business. The exceptions are the Greek Mythology Casino and the floating Casino Macau Palace, which were already closed before the February suspension took place, and the Macau Jockey Club casino.

Despite the reopenings, visitation remains weak. Bernstein Research has estimated that March GGR will fall 75 to 80 percent year-on-year.

February GGR came in at MOP3.1 billion (about US$372 million), a year-on-year decline of 87.8 percent.
