Melco sponsors responsible gaming video

Melco Resorts & Entertainment has sponsored a public service video to reinforce responsible gaming culture to be shown on Macau television.

The televised public service video will be aired onTeledifusão de Macau (TDM) in the coming months as part of the company’s dedication to promoting responsible gaming culture in Macau. The film, titled “Our Wishes”, explores the relationship between a father, his wife and young daughter; and the significance of the family to help one stay in control.

“Responsible gaming has been and continues to be a top priority for Melco,” Chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho said. “The healthy expansion of the industry is of utmost importance to the sustained development of Macau, and Melco is fully supportive of government policies encouraging responsible gaming.”

The initiative comes from Melco’s Responsible Gaming Steering Committee, which was set up in 2007 and led by Ho. Melco says it remains the only company in Macau to provide compulsory responsible gaming training to all staff, including from both gaming and non-gaming departments.

It was also Macau’s first gaming operator to set up facial recognition systems preventing banned personnel, including problem gamblers, from entering gaming areas across all its integrated resorts.
