Mobile games are likely to grow by more than 8 percent per year through 2020, far outstripping growth for the PC and consoles, according to Daniel Kashti, chief marketing & commercial officer of Kama Games.
According to figures presented by Kashti at the ASEAN Gaming Summit, mobile games have already won a 43 percent share of the video games market, and the slice of the pie is only expected to grow as it overshadows its PC and console peers.
"Mobile is the key driver for growth," Kashti said.
Competitive gaming, cross-industry marketing campaigns, loot boxes and monetization schemes, augmented reality, and crypto-currency tie-ins are all aspects of the mobile games world that appear set for substantial development in future years.
