Former Tinian Dynasty workers unhappy about new owner

Tinian Dynasty workers who have been waiting for unpaid salaries are not happy about the transfer of Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino’s gaming license to its new owner, Marianas Variety Reports.

Although the workers were given assurances they can temporarily move to the gym and youth center, it is understood they have been reluctant to leave the hotel premises without getting paid what they are owed, adding that they felt they were being “chased away” so that Tinian Entertainment Corp. could take over the facility.

“...we have decided that no matter what happens, as long as we can bear the heat here and the lack of water, we are not going to leave until we’re paid. Right now we are still waiting for a person who can help us with our labor case. We did not do anything wrong. We are victims of the previous owners,” said one of the workers, requesting anonymity.

Last week, the Philippines honorary consul to the CNMI urged the former employees of Tinian Dynasty to return to Philippines.

Honorary consul Glicerio Arago said that casino employees are without power and on rationed food and have not been paid money by their hotel employer for the last eight payrolls.
